Frequently Asked Questions

What is Dermaplaning?

A form of exfoliation in which the skincare specialist uses a surgical blade to manually remove any build-up of dead skin cells, the treatment softens the appearance of fine lines and evens out skin tone. The procedure also removes any vellus hair also known as 'peach fuzz', which can trap oil and dirt, causing breakouts and dull complexion.

Will my 'peach fuzz' hair on my face grow back thicker?

The simple answer is no. Your vellus hair will grow back in time but will not be any thicker than it was before.

What is Micro-needling?

A micro-needling device is used with very small needles to create tiny punctures in the skin. These small contact points encourage the body to create a wound healing response and renew the skin cells. As your skin repairs, the production of collagen and elastin is triggered to give an almost immediate plumping effect. It can also help tackle other skin concerns such as scarring, dark marks, sun damage and fine lines and wrinkles.

Will it hurt?

During a micro-needling treatment, some clients experience a tingling or uncomfortable feeling. This would depend on your personal pain threshold or hormones levels (it can tend to be a little uncomfortable nearer the time of the month). You may experience some redness immediately after your treatment, this is completely normal and is temporary (usually settles after 1-3 hours).

What is Hyaluronic Acid?

Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally within the body, providing moisture, plumpness and firmness. The ability to produce HA decreases with age. When applied topically it increases hydration, making the skin appear healthy and glowing. HA works for all skin types.
